nerd-bender – noun, staying up all night researching some fool project that has little to do with your true long term goals, but which is exceeding cool in it’s own right. For example, designing a recumbent diesel/electric hybrid motorcycle. Or a seaworthy ferrocement skullship. Or a tele-operated robotic teddy bear who rides around on a robotic lady bug.
