Flaming Lips: gummy skull, a human skull

For this Halloween, the Flaming Lips will be releasing a 24-HOUR SONG.  24-hour songs require special packaging, and this won’t disappoint:  the required hard drive will be served up fresh – IN A HUMAN SKULL.

Yes, you are allowed to stop reading here, and look at the site of the skull providers:

Coyne:  “Nothing that we’re doing is bizarre or illegal.  Heads come into this place and they have these flesh-eating beetles which literally eat every molecule of flesh off of these things and you’ll end up with a human skull.”

Unfortunately, all of the $5,000 “skull packages” have already sold out in advance, before the song has even been recorded.  The rest of us can get skull-free versions of the as-yet-untitled tune on October 31.

This is not the first time the Lips worked with skull-based marketing schemes for their music. This past May they offered “Gummy Song Skull” a four-song usb tucked into an edible gummy skull, one version of which had…wait for it….wait for it…

….a marijuana flavored brain.
